Fortaleza: Experience the awesome sunshine the sea and the wild air

Besieged by splendid beaches and fishing villages,and blessed with sunshine all year around, there is not really, a bad time to visit Fortaleza. Like most cities in the northeast of Brazil, Fortaleza has a hot, arid climate, and sees less rainfall than many other cities in the region. Being the capital of the Brazilian state of Ceará, It’s known for its beaches, separated by red cliffs, palm trees, dunes and lagoons.


The Brazilian summer of December through February, and the North American/European summer of June through August, are the two tourist high seasons. The warm water and soft sandy beaches are favorite reasons why tourists flock here.

Praia de Iracema ( Iracema beach ) is the prodigious beach with broad walk way and awe-inspiring view of the ocean. Iracema offers restaurants, artisan goods, night parties and local delicacies.

The place is also known for hosting Carnivals, and have constructed distinct blocks for hosting these fests.The four days of Carnival see Fortaleza transformed into the venue for a giant street party, with dancing, drumming and drinking across the city. Carnivals usually takes place in the month of February.

Now, if u are looking for a beach to swim, Praia do Futuro is where u must be. Being a popular startling destination, Futuro can excite you with lot of fun activities that happen on the beach side. They say ‘The best thing about waking up in sunny Fortaleza is to head to the beach Praia do Futuro, pick one of the “barracas”, sit down, enjoy the view and order some “caranguejos”.’ Yes, crabs!

Places like Canoa Quebrada, Morro Branco, Cumbucu or Lagoinha to mention just a few, are well worth the visit .Getting to Fortaleza, Jericoacoara,  is one of the “gotta go” places. You can find cozy lodges, good small restaurants, courteous people, buggy tours and kitesurf classes. Oh – and don’t forget to see the sunset from the sand dunes, it’s unforgettable.

Beach Park is another sprawling address. The Brazilian water park and tourist resort, situated on the beach of Porto das Dunas. The seaside delights tourists, and despite being very popular, the place still retains an intimate and reserved atmosphere. The infrastructure of more than 200.000 square meters has, a Park, four Resorts and a pleasant beach area, where visitors can experience and unforgettable culinary experience.

The Beach Park celebrated its 30th anniversary in style, with the opening of its new toy: the Vaikuntudo, which holds the record of being the largest water slide in the world, category Tornado.
